. RESIDENCE HALLS SECURITY

A security officer is always on duty in each Temple University residence hall. Students present computerized ID cards for entry. Guests to the residence halls surrender ID cards or driver’s licenses to the residence hall security officer for the duration of their stay. Each guest is signed in, then escorted by the resident being visited, who also surrenders his or her ID card. The limit is three guests per resident at any one time.

Each resident is issued a key or keycard for his or her room. When a key is lost, a new lock with a new key will be provided. All residence halls window have locks, with security access screens on lower floor windows. Residence halls have fire safety features including smoke detectors, alarmed fire-exit doors, fire extinguishers, and automated exit doors.
